Bolognese Fettuccine / Tagliatelle

He stopped and smiled. Standing at the menu stand, he turned the pages of the menu slowly.

Looking frail but gentlemanly, he was reading the menu slowly. "I like my pasta with meat sauce. Do you have any?"

"Yes." said Ben and he went on to introduce our Bolognese Fettuccine.

Mr Gentleman sat down, ordered his pasta and coffee. He worked his way slowly with the Bolognese Fettuccine and the coffee.  When done,  "Compliments to the Chef!" he exclaimed and happily asked for his bill.  Mr Gentleman, was undoubtedly a joy to serve. Ben, our Service Team Member had enjoyed chatting and laughing with him. 

Just before he left, in a serious, heart-felt tone of voice he apologized.
"I've enjoyed my pasta here, but  I am sorry - I can't give you any tip.  I am a retiree."  

His sincerity melted our hearts.
We wasn't expecting anything in return. 
He was such a gentleman too - a rarity these days.
He was a joy to serve.

Whenever I have my Bolognese Fettuccine @ Villa di Parma, I'll remember the day when Mr Gentleman came visiting ; )
